Step behind the velvet curtain! Meet sparkling fairies and cavalier princes! Dance with graceful animals and toys come-to-life! Led by
Miss Vicki, dancers will spend each camp exploring one famous ballet through storytelling, creative movement games, pantomime, and craft projects. Children may register for 1, 2, 3, or all 4 camps.
Limited to 14 dancers per session.

Why is the sky blue? Where does fire come from? Pourquoi tales are legends told across many cultures to explain how things came to be. Led by DCE faculty member
Allison Kurtz Volkers, Mini Campers will explore these questions and their own artistic voices through dance, music, creative drama, and arts & crafts. Themes change each session so that students may participate in multiple camps. Each week ends with a performance for family and friends.

Sleeping Beauty
Dates: July 15-August 2
Times: Monday-Friday, 8:45am-3pm
Ages: 8-12 (as of 9/1/19)

Led by the incomparable
Wendy Park, dancers will work together to create their own version of Tchaikovsky’s classic,
Sleeping Beauty. Harnessing the power of their collective imaginations, moving bodies, and artistic talents, the ensemble will build this ballet from the ground up over the course of three weeks, culminating in a performance in the beautiful Studio5 Theater. Mornings will be spent in technique classes such as Ballet, Pantomime, Character, and Modern, while afternoons will focus on bringing the ballet to life. Field trips to Penny Park and Greenwood Beach complete this magical summer experience!

Levels: Dancers from Ballet 2B, 3, 4, or 5 (will be assigned to one of two groups at the start of each week)
Cost: $366/wk or $1050 for all 3! ($351/wk or $999 for all 3 before April 1st)

Level: For rising high school students and alums with significant dance experience.
Steph Paul returns to Dance Center Evanston with this unique workshop, designed to inspire advanced dancers to hone their artistic voices. Steph will lead technique classes and set choreography, then guide dancers through the process of creating their own movement from scratch, emphasizing free exploration and individual expression. The workshop culminates in an informal works-in-progress showing in Studio5. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience!
